Report: Rose has torn meniscus in right knee, will need surgery

Chicago Bulls star, Derrick Rose has another lengthy rehab ahead of him as MRI results revealed a torn right meniscus which will require surgery.

This is a huge setback for the Chicago Bulls' organization just as Rose was rounding back into form. Rose torn his left ACL 19 months ago, missing all of the 2012-2013 NBA season in which fans were very disappointed that he didn't suit up to play in the playoffs after being cleared by doctors.

Rose left Friday night's game against the Portland Trailblazers in excruciating pain. Up until his knee injury in the third quarter, Rose was the Bulls' leading scorer with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Luol Deng tried to add a positive spin to the unfortunate situation by stating to ESPNChicago.com, "We've been there before. We've just got to pick things up and keep working hard."

Coach Tom Thibodeau echoed Luol Deng's comments. "We've got to take it one step at a time. We have to figure out where we go from here and we will. The games will not stop, they'll keep coming. No one in the league will feel sorry for us, so we're going to have to be prepared and ready to go."
