Terrell Owens To Be Honorary Captain At 49ers Game Sunday

By: Mankine

The ever controversial Terrell Owens will make his return to Candlestick Park this Sunday (Nov. 10) when his former team the San Francisco 49ers take on the Carolina Panthers. However, Owens will not be in uniform as much as he desires to be back on an NFL football field.

In 49ers history, Terrell Owens is second only to the great Jerry Rice in touchdowns, receiving yards and all-time receptions. The 49ers organization extended an olive branch to Owens to serve as an honorary captain for Sunday's game.

The invitation is meant to celebrate the top 10 moments in Candlestick Park history, which guarantees to be an emotional day for Owens and the 49ers. One play sure to be revisited will be Owens' 25-yard touchdown catch from Steve Young to defeat the Green Bay Packers as time ran out in the 1998 playoffs.
